Ok so first up some big news from me. I am leaving RightHemisphere to start a company with a new friend. I was approached awhile back by a guy called John Ballinger. He found me through this very site. Unbeknowinst to me he used to be the Technical Directory for Fantasy Interfaces and Technically managed the road runner project for Time Warner. So needless to say he had some street cred.
John has started up a New Zealand company BlueSpark, and has been plowing away on work and needed a hand. I needed money to fund my mustang project and wanted to start my own business.
So I now work for BlueSpark and have started a new business with John which will be busting out the mac daddy flash products. More news on that will follow. So keep an eye out for us in the news as I really hope to push things here. So after asking some of you about your startup experiences I am now ready to head down that road
. Very Exciting.
On another note I read a post over at Interakt about why Ruby is busting out its very own mac daddy apps. The authors point was rather logical when you think about it. But I heard about a really interesting lanuage and would love to hear from anyone who has tried it. Check out the WikiPedia under BRAIN FU*K. There is even a hello world example. If someone can show me 1000 lines of that lanuage I will bow down before yee!
Ok so the news is out so I think Im officially allowed to comment. Just a note these are my views and are now way the opinion or views of RightHemisphere.
Adobe has released its new offering of Acrobat 3D which allows users to pretty much view any cad (and other 3d format) file with an Acrobat viewer and a Javascript API.
PRESS RELEASE HERE.
"With Acrobat 3D, design engineering, technical publishing and creative professionals in manufacturing industries such as automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery, as well as the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) market, can easily convert 3D models from a wide variety of major computer-aided design (CAD) formats and embed them into Adobe PDF files—regardless of whether they have CAD software."
So I would like to take the oportunity to congradulate the boys and girls at work for thier endless endevours to meet Adobes tight release schedules. There was stress and many soft toys thrown round but the result was really impressive. We at work (RightHemisphere) are currently working on Deep Explorer 4.0 and Im working on the server solution Deep Server web 4.0 to take things a step further and supply automated features. We have some pretty big clients which always impresses when you reel off the list. Nasa, Damlier Chrysler, Jet Propulsion Laboritories…..
Just to round up what RH did, we provided Adobe with the ability to open most if not all but a few, 3d formats using our engine, then using our viewer, display and allow the javascript dom of Acrobat to interact with the viewer. So HERE is a PDF full of registered and copyright marks explaining all the marketing guff.
Acrobat has become the sword which Adobe is wielding in the content war for users desktop and web content. I have started playing with Micro$ofts offering "Expresion suite" and am finding it interesting. But to be Honest PDF now joined by flash (or soon to be see Appollo post) really has a head start on the competition. I can only wait for 3d flash
.
Ill ask the powers that be if I can post some examples cause there are some really cool features which I think the flash comunity should be aware of.
Just a small post to introduce to everyone the newest crew member at Xsive.co.nz. Hes small, grey, cheap to run and is nocturnal (much like me so he fits in). Meet ……well he who has no-name…Yet.

He kicks around and likes small places to hide. I have started teaching him action script, but hes having a few issues with syntax. So I have pointed him to my favorite websites MXNA and Fullasagoog, to do some reading.

So if you have any ideas about a good name for a grey Chinchilla, feel free to sugest. In the mean time Ill carry on teaching him AS2. So if you see him posting round the forums please help him out.

Yep its all kitch to launch a beta not a product……then give your beta testers invitations to give to friends…..etc etc. Googles done it, Microsofts doing it. Who next?
So in true remanisant (spelling?) style of Google Gmail invitation days I have a few Msn Messenger invitations, I got given some more ….more than I have friends
(, so Im giving them away in the hope of meeting new friends lol.
First in first served style and I dont have many. Leave a comment below and enter your email in the required field and Ill try to sort you out.
