YEAAAAAH. I got a great surprise today. I got an email from Tim at bla.st, letting me know I had won thier competition for an Ipod.

Bla.st is basically a cool angle on those pixel adspace websites. "bla.st is a free promotional directory. bla.st can be used to advertise or promote any kind of promotion, event, sale, products, services, business or organisation or almost anything else. Cards on the site are organised by categories and countries."

Check it out HERE and thank you Tim for the early Xmas pressie :)

I got my new Phidget to play with and soon it will be flex powered!!

Get your mind out of the gutter. A phidget is USB interface, that can be programed against in many lanuages, including….you guessed it… ActionScript.

I hope to use WebOrb to create a small socket server to allow Flex Remoting to interact with it (with thier permission obviously). Then I can just use Remoting and AMF to get/set data on the phidget. I can basically use it to control anything. If I get around to making n AS3 wrapper for the remoting Ill release it to the left under phidget projects.

I have been looking for new things to try lately and  hardware has really peaked my interest (man im becoming a g33k). Ill have to incorperate my car with it or something to have a g33k– effect. Thankyou mum and dad for the birthday present.

Props to Robert Hall for pointing me to this.

Another Kiwi making waves

Filed under: Personal — Wrote by Campbell on Wednesday, September 13th, 2006 @ 10:53 pm

Well another Kiwi has started making waves in the internet world, and Im allways keen to toot the patriotic horn. There has been a bit of a mess over on Youtube about a girl posting video logs under the name Lonelygirl15. She is now the most subsribed user on YouTube. A lot of people thought her posts were the preceeding marketing for some sort of Tv series and what thier true purpose was is still to be revealed.

What has been discovered is that lonelygirl15 is actually Jessica Rose from Mount Maunganui, here in New Zealand. That the place where I went to sur, and hang out looking at hot chicks at the beach! and one of them ended up going to hollywood and causing a still on the Inet.

For more info check MASHABLE STORY

What really scares me is that just everyone can be investigated online. The Youtube video  shows about 12 images of this girl from various sources including googlesimage cache. Damn I wonder what dodgy stuff people could find out about me.

Man, marketing companies would do anything for this sort of exposure, Well done Jessica, Bet youll get an acting job now. Not really sure about your American accent though.

Any Kiwis out there….the story will be run on tv1 and tv3 news soon so keep an eye out.
