Well a little off topic compared to my usual Flex related posts but I always try to keep my friends and family updated as to the progress on my project car. My mates keep asking whens the first beach run and my girlfriend when can she take it for its first shopping run *shudder*

For those not in the know this convertible mustang started out in a bad way when I found her

I rebuilt the chassis (frame for the US people) and then proceeded to pretty much replace the entire body. Getting it on the chassis machine to check my workmanship etc.

After replacing the entire floor in both the cabin and the boot (trunk) I then had to replace most the engine bay and outer panels….weeeee. Along haul but I can now say I have built a car from scratch.

I also won some awesome Bridgestone rubber so I decided to splash out some pretty mags

Lately I have been slowly putting it back together as time and weather allowed

I went to welding school at MIT to get my welding tickets so I could do everything myself. Its kind of a nice way to break away from the computer and do something with my hands. Now comes the task of panel work and using as little bog (bondo) as possible to get her straight and off to the paint shop. So stay tuned for the beach run photos but as its hailing outside at the moment that may be a while off.

Well I had a great time down in Taupo today. You may remember a few posts ago it was my birthday. And for that birthday alot of people put if for me to do a session at the Taupo Raceway in a V8 Holden. Man it was fun. I was so sad when it was over I just wanted to keep going.

After having taken the week off to work on my mustang (it gets me off the computer) I had my birthday on Saturday. Im old at the age of 28 in this game. Got a great present from my girlfriend and my parents. They got me a track day at Taupo in a V8 Supercar. I get to nail it round the track and cause all sorts of mischief. 

DAMN COOL cant wait.

Along with all of that I have been catching up on some Halo3 practice and playing with some of the many ideas floating round in my head. Now im back at work and have to get next months Flex usergroup meeting sorted out. 

Well its just about finished here in NZ but the photos are starting to appear.

Gotta be done really. I got some big mags custom made (standard shape just custom measurements) for my mustang. All thats left to do now is finish the mustang lol.

This all stemmed from me winning an online competition for a set of new tyres from Bridgestone. They basically said any size you want! so bigger is better right? Which meant that I just had to get some mags to wrap in the new rubber.

I have done a fair bit more since this photo, but it was the last time it was out of the garage for a full photo.
