Adobe 3D sprinkled with RightHemisphere Flavour
Ok so the news is out so I think Im officially allowed to comment. Just a note these are my views and are now way the opinion or views of RightHemisphere.
Adobe has released its new offering of Acrobat 3D which allows users to pretty much view any cad (and other 3d format) file with an Acrobat viewer and a Javascript API.
"With Acrobat 3D, design engineering, technical publishing and creative professionals in manufacturing industries such as automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery, as well as the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) market, can easily convert 3D models from a wide variety of major computer-aided design (CAD) formats and embed them into Adobe PDF files—regardless of whether they have CAD software."
So I would like to take the oportunity to congradulate the boys and girls at work for thier endless endevours to meet Adobes tight release schedules. There was stress and many soft toys thrown round but the result was really impressive. We at work (RightHemisphere) are currently working on Deep Explorer 4.0 and Im working on the server solution Deep Server web 4.0 to take things a step further and supply automated features. We have some pretty big clients which always impresses when you reel off the list. Nasa, Damlier Chrysler, Jet Propulsion Laboritories…..
Just to round up what RH did, we provided Adobe with the ability to open most if not all but a few, 3d formats using our engine, then using our viewer, display and allow the javascript dom of Acrobat to interact with the viewer. So HERE is a PDF full of registered and copyright marks explaining all the marketing guff.
Acrobat has become the sword which Adobe is wielding in the content war for users desktop and web content. I have started playing with Micro$ofts offering "Expresion suite" and am finding it interesting. But to be Honest PDF now joined by flash (or soon to be see Appollo post) really has a head start on the competition. I can only wait for 3d flash
.
Ill ask the powers that be if I can post some examples cause there are some really cool features which I think the flash comunity should be aware of.

Just so you know, your site looks horrid in Safari.
Yeah cheers, Im always saying I will get round to that
( Sorry
