Sharing the Skoda love

Consider this paying it forward. I was stuck at the bus stop waiting for my bus which had been delayed. I have a car but it is too low to park in parking buildings (Even if I could afford the daily rate) and my mustang is still in bits :( .

So I had a nice surprise when a chick in a blue wagon pulled up and asked me if I wanted a ride (keep the comments to a minimum ;) . After a few moments of confusion my mind engaged and I took the oportunity for a free ride. Turns out it was a promotion that Skoda is doing in New Zealand to raise the profile of its cars. So I got a ride in a flash wagon (that had comfy bucket seats) and although I couldn't convince her to put her foot down to demonstraight the power of the 6 speed diesel, the ride was good. So cosider this me keeping the Kharma going with a little free advert:

If your in the Auckland CBD and see one apparently you can wave them down too :)

Can you explain “have a car but it is too low to park in parking buildings”

In the USA, we have cars that are too big or too high to park in a parking garage, but I’ve not heard of cars that are too low.

Sure, I am a car guy, and a low center of gravity on a car makes the handling better (as long as you don’t screw up the suspension geometry or steering). So When I built my other car I went through the suspension and changed the springs to shorter and stiffer ones to get a lower center of gravity. Also my body kit front spoiler is just low enough that I cant go over sharp inclines, that parking buildings have on their ramps up to other levels. Also problematic are speed humps, Opossums, rabbits, small children…… Impractical I know, but makes for fun open road driving

Ha! As soon as you started explaining why you take public transport, i knew you must be from Auckland.

Im actually a vegas boy (Rotorua) and had to move to Auckland to get a decent Tech job. I have been offered work in Silconwelly but the roads there are crap and it would kill my car. Love your Inet though, and the comunitie spirit in the tech sector :)

Them rabbits make a real mess of fibre glass spoilers. A rather silly rabbit obliterated my front spoiler even when I was travelling at a legal speed.

Got any pics of what you are driving at the moment??

P.s. what you doing for Rod (if you can share)??
