Hey Streamingbob, I come from a film and TV background, I actually worked for TVNZ New Zealands main broadcaster doing streaming media waaaaay back in 2000, live shows and all (Yick WMP 6). I now know Adobe wont initally have any sort of extension or external plugin feature in v1. Sad but true. I guess the whole cross platform thing is a bit to get sorted with plugins in v1. That said I know of quite a few external wrappers both available today and in development, that will allow many diferent new features so keep your fingers crossed. I hope you know that the latest flash player plugin can now go full screen from the browser.

Alot is possible today and if you have any questions on how to do something let me know. Im always keen to help people do video based software.

Hey,

Good post.

I wonder if you might comment more on the Full Screen functonality of a browser style Flash style player plug-in - a la Flash Plugin. What do you mean by internal hooks?

Adobe would be smart to partner for a game controller for the home "computer". If you could make things on the internet move via X and Y coordinates, as is possible with an object in Flash, that would be cool. Especially when you deliver the transparency of video at or Near full screen. Full screen will back the user away from the keyboard, don't you think?

Ah excellent, thankyou for clearing that one up Mike, and welcome to my little square of the internet. Now Im going to quote you >>
"on a version of Apollo based on the b2 build of player 9" can I read from that, that Apollo has its own version of the player sprinkled with a little more functionality, ie its more than Apollo browser with standard flash plugin?

>(b2)

fyi, the b2 didnt mean beta 2, at least not Apollo beta 2 (since we are not near beta yet).

It actually stands for Flash Player 9 beta 2. i.e. The app was build on a version of Apollo based on the b2 build of player 9.

However, I should have removed that, since the version of Apollo that it is actually running on is M0 (which is based on player 9 b3).

Does that make sense?

Sorry about the confusion.

Btw, I add those so we quickly know which version of Apollo the app will run on (useful for demos when builds are changing a lot).
