Yep Ok so here it is…. the obligatory about section (with included bad spelling just to help you get the idea).

Background:

Born in Rotorua, New Zealand I grew up getting into all sorts of mischief in cars.
It was here that I went through a plethora of jobs, working after school as a Fibre glasser, making all sorts of things from surfboards to boats. Also Parachute packing for a tourism company, radio dj, Mechanic, Concrete layer etc…
I moved onto Uni to do a course in design, but somehow came out doing film and advertising, which lead me to my first major job. Working at TVNZ (1 of NZ’s main broadcasters) Filming, editing and producing some pretty bleeding edge streaming media (remember this was way back in 2000). We even shot in studio live interactive shows (some on location at events like fashion shows). It was here I got into Internet Technologies, after seeing the cool things that could be done.

Next I moved to  Trimble Navigation in thier marketing and communications department. This is where I really found flash and found my passion for working with it. Incidently this is where I discovered my love hate relationship with .Net.

Arcad was my next port of call where I became a Technical Director, after a couple of years. This place really was pushin some limits, and I learnt alot of new skills.

I then found myself at Right Hemisphere developing the web side to their Enterprise Server product Deep Server. This was mostly working with .Net.

After a few years working for one of the larger (and more well known) tech companies in NZ I decided to try working with a smaller more agile company and went to work with John Ballinger at Bluespark. Working here gave me the great chance to shape projects directions more and work with John, who is very well respected in the NZ tech scene.

After a stint working at a startup to make the next cool web 2.0 applications with Ruby on Rails etc, I moved on to create my own company PXLDepth. Here I carried on working with the technologies I love (Flex, flash, ROR, .Net ……..). Now I am partners with a great group of people making some amazing products, and working with the Flex community. Adobe were nice enough to recognise these efforts and add me to the Adobe Ambassador program where I help steer the direction of Flex in the Pacific area. Later on I was also given the honor of becoming an Adobe Community professional for the work in the Flex area.
